Description

Herpa

1:500 diecast model

In 1946, just one year after the end of World War II, KLM became the first European airline to launch transatlantic connections to New York. By 1948, it had already built up an extensive long-haul network to Africa, as well as North and South America, also with the help of the then new Douglas DC-6. Having entered service in 1952, this DC-6B is named after Jan van Riebeeck, the Dutch doctor, businessman and founder of Cape Town in what is today South Africa.
